“Accelerating Mindanao Samaj through Cadre Formation,” – this is the conference theme of the Panaghugpong Mindanaw 2nd Leadership Assembly, recently conducted on March 5-7, 2010 at Koronadal Proper, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
The PANAGHUGPONG MINDANAW is a regional federation of Samaj movements in southern Maharlika (Philippines) with members coming from multi-sector groupings, such as the Kultura sa Nagkahiusang Tingog Alang sa Kalambuan sa Mindanao (KUNTAK Mindanaw), Kahugpungan Uban sa Mindanaw (KAUBAN Mindanaw), Kalihukan Alang sa Tanang Igsoon sa Mindanaw (KATIG Mindanaw), Maharlika Student Organization (MASO), Kultura ng Malayang Maharlika (KULMAMA), and the Kababaihan Sandigan ng Bayan (KASABAY).
The leaders assembly that was held at Nityapriya’s Farm in Palkan, Koronadal Proper were successfully participated by the majority of the structural officers of the PANAGHUGPONG MINDANAW in coordination with the PROUT Mindanao Forum which was facilitated by brother Sudipta (Hector Mñoza). During the conference workshop, the group discussion focus primarily on development of the respective samaj movement. Each sectoral group have identified the gaps and bottlenecks and formulated a 3-year action plan for their respective samaj units.
The latest development after the assembly, the MASO have invested at least Php 20-thousand for the mechanized Tofu production at the municipality of Banga in South Cotabato. This income generating project is only part of the viable business which were plan to set-up self-sustaining project to nourish the students growth of their samaj organization.
The mechanized tofu production is being spearheaded by brother Danavir (Daniel Tamashiro), who is the auditor of the PANAGHUGPONG and assisted by brothers; Amar and Narayan of the KULMAMA.
On the other hand, the Women Sector of Panaghugpong is planning to host the first Maharlikan Women’s National Conference next year headed by Sis Tara Epal, the executive director of Baba’s Foundation Incorporated (BFI), through its newly formed KASABAY an acronym for KABABAIHAN SANDIGAN NG BAYAN.
